BIO: Rose Harden,Tribal Fusion belly dancer, has been an active member of the San Francisco belly dance community since 1999. As a long standing member of Ultra Gypsy (1999-2008), and founding member of Barbary Coast Shakedown, she has shared the joy of this dance form through performance and instruction through out the United States and Europe.

She began her belly dance studies with Tina Enheduanna in Providence RI, providing a folkloric and oriental foundation. Upon moving home to San Francisco she jumped in to Jill Parker's classes and began to dedicate her self to Ultra Gypsy. Rose has taught side by side with Jill Parker at many festivals and workshops and has been a frequent substitue teacher for many of Jill's weekly classes. In the past 3 years as co-director of Ultra Gypsy Rose has been a contributing force in the company's dynamic choreography and innovative costuming. After more than 7 fulfilling years with Ultra Gypsy, Rose will be moving on to persue other projects.

As a member of Ultra Gypsy Rose has performed and created with Rachel Brice, Sharon Kihara, Zoe Jakes, Kristina Canizares, Malia DeFelice, and fire artist Bruce Sherrod. Rose has had the extreme honor to work with Heather Stants as part of the Spark tour.

Rose worked collaboratively with Wendy Darling to create the Ultra Gypsy costumes seen in Peko Record's Belly Dance Underworld and the Marie Antoinette inspired piece seen at Neveau Nights and UG's Pacific Northwest tour. She has extended her costuming skills to The Lifesize Mousetrap and Stars and Garters Theater company.

Rose's recent projects have included the debut of The Barbary Coast Shakedown, a collaborative project with some of the Bay Area's brightest belly dance talent. The Barbary Coast Shakedown has included in it's members Mira Betz, Elizabeth Strong, Frederique, Susan Frankovch, Sarah White, and Jill Parker, all of whom Rose has been honored to work with. This project has garnered rave reviews for it's innovative show which we hope to produce a performance DVD of.

Rose is inspired by the diversity of the San Francisco performance and dance community where she continues her dance and movement studies with Suhalia Salimpour, Mira Betz, Amy Sigil, yoga, modern dance, and pilates. She also tours with the Cyclecide Bike Rodeo and The Lifesize Mousetrap when not managing Rosehips Designs.
